To get started with Ringo, install the Ringo.prc file and either ringo15-color.prc
(for Treo 270) or ringo15-bw.prc (for Treo 180/180g).
| When you start Ringo you see
the 'Friends' screen. This screen lets you enter the names and
numbers of your friends and choose a personal ringtone for each
one.
You can tell instantly who's calling you
- without even looking at the screen! Or get in the mood for the
call, with a funky tone for your pals, and a serious ring for
work!

| When you create a new friend
you can choose their details from your address book or just enter
the information directly into the text area.
You can easily select a ringtone for
this friend (Treo 270 only) and choose a special picture or photograph to show on the call
screen when they ring you.
Ringo comes complete with a set of 15
fun caller icons, which you can easily assign to any caller or
group. Or you can add your own pictures and photographs...

Ringo's Groups screen lets you set a
special ringtone (Treo 270 only) and picture based on the categories in your
Treo's Address Book. Now when you get a call you get the ringtone
and picture for the category that they are in.
You can also set ringtones and pictures
for people not in your address book - they will use the settings
for 'Unknown Numbers'.

| To manage your ringtone
collection, press the 'music' button at the bottom of the Friends
screen. This takes you to the Ringtone manager.
Ringo's ringtone screen shows
the list of current ringtones.
New tones can be composed on the
keyboard - tap the 'New...' button to launch it. The keyboard records every
note you play, you can set the length of the notes with the
musical symbols. You can play back your compositions with
the Play button.To convert a tune into a ring tone,
press the Save button and give your new tone a name.
Ringo lets you use any Palm
OS alarm sound as a ringtone on the Treo Communicator. To show the
list of alarm tunes, select the popup list at the top corner of
the screen.
You can download new alarm databases
from many websites on the internet, giving you an almost unlimited number of
ringtone choices. We recommend TreoRingtones.com

for a great selection.

You can easily add your own pictures and photographs to Ringo, so that you can use them when
your friends and contacts call. Here's what you need to do...
Pictures can be a maximum size of
160x160 pixels - though for best effect use pictures that are smaller,
120x90 is a good size. To get pictures onto your Treo you
should use either SplashPhoto
or the Handspring
Photo Album. Finally, HotSync the picture database
from SplashPhoto or the Photo Album to your Treo. Then you can
select your pictures for your friends!
